Tonight, the energetic Gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello play a sold-out show at the Paradiso!
Tuesday 2nd August:
Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine play at Melkweg Oude Zaal.
On Wednesday, the Bitterzoet plays host to songwriter/illustrator/video maker Chad VanGaalen, when he’ll be showcasing songs from his latest release, Diaper Island. This multi-talented artist also has an art exhibition opening on Tuesday 2nd August at Andenken Gallery, which will run until August 21st.
Thursday 4th August is the opening night of the Open Air Film Festival’s Pluk de Nacht at Het Stenen Hoofd, Amsterdam Oost. For the following 10 days visitors will be treated to a full programme of art house films, documentaries and short films.
Amsterdam Gay Pride Festival kicks off on Friday 5th! Check out SupermartXe at Club AIR, Girlesque at the Paradiso or Club Dirty Boys at COC Theatre. The highlight of the festival is the Canal Parade. Party by the Prinsengracht as 80 decorated boats sail through the middle of the city.
Blijburg is the place to be this Saturday evening as Amsterdam’s renowned clubnights (Struttin’, The Daisy Age, I Love Vinyl, Estéreo and Freakin’ Ill) join forces to bring you Family Affair: an evening of Soul, Funk, Hiphop, Reggae and R’n’B.

The Sunday Market takes place this Sunday at Westerpark, where you can sample the produce of local eateries and artisans from 13:00. This week there’s also Lindyhop and Charleston workshops courtesy of Lindy Spirit!
If flea markets are your thing, this Sunday is also the day to check out the large outdoor flea market in Amsterdam Noord – Ijhallen.
