Better late than never…I’ve had a mooch around to see what’s going on in our fair village this week and here’s some highlights for you!
The International Comedy Tour hits the Westerunie tonight and tomorrow night. Tickets are still available for tomorrow night, where you can see 3 one-hour shows (with 4 comedians in each show). The shows are being filmed for television and you’ll be able to check them out on HBO later in the year. Get your tickets here!
Check out the tats on that! Everyone’s favourite one-man mental, Steve-O, flips out at the Melkweg tomorrow night in association with Comedy Central. Steve-O messing himself up whilst sober, wouldn’t mind checking that out meself!
The unique Rocket Cinema Festival kicks off on Friday at Artis Planetarium in Amsterdam. The festival shows cult films in various locations in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Groningen, accompanied by a live soundtrack from local bands and DJs. The Smoke Eaters will be playing at the after-party in Groningen on 26th November.
Salad Warrior...
Amsterdam’s favourite salad provider, Foodlem, will be popping up at this year’s Greenpeace festival, Rainbow Warrior. The festival takes place in Amsterdam on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October. Pop over to Java Island to enjoy the festivities, which will also include yoga workshops, organic goodies and live music.
And this post wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Halloween. I hadn’t realised how popular it was over here until I happened upon a poster for Amsterdam’s Halloween Festival (well, we do love our festivals over here…). There’s loads of parties to choose from this weekend and some events for children too. I was thinking about stocking up on sweeties for trick-or-treaters, which made me feel a bit too grown-up, so I might stock up on some eggs too.
